Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Viascom LLC and Viascom OÜ collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website and services.
Who We Are
This website is operated by Viascom LLC (Weissbadstrasse 8b, CH-9050 Appenzell, Switzerland; CHE-269.801.554 MWST). Viascom LLC is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of providing our services.
Viascom OÜ (Telliskivi tn 57, 10412 Tallinn, Estonia; registry code 17272180) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Viascom LLC. Viascom OÜ is an independent data controller for personal data processed in connection with billing, invoicing, and tax obligations for customers in the European Union. Viascom OÜ also serves as Viascom LLC's representative in the European Union under Article 27 of the GDPR.
For any question about this policy or to exercise your rights, contact [email protected].
What We Collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:
- Usage data: IP address, browser user-agent, and request paths recorded in standard server logs
- Account data: name, email, and preferences if you create an account or contact us about a service
- Communications: messages you send us by email
- Billing data (EU customers only): name, billing address, VAT identifier (if applicable), and payment information, processed by Viascom OÜ for invoicing and tax compliance
Providing personal data on this website is not required to browse or read our public pages. If you contact us by email, create an account, or become a paying customer, we will need the relevant contact, account, or billing information to respond, provide the service, or meet tax obligations. If you do not provide that information, we will not be able to serve you in that capacity.
How We Use Your Data
- Provide and operate our services
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Improve and secure our services
- Invoice you and meet tax-law obligations (for EU customers, performed by Viascom OÜ)
- Meet legal obligations
Legal Basis
We process your data based on:
- Contract: to provide services you request
- Consent: where required for optional processing
- Legitimate interests: to secure and improve our services and to prevent abuse
- Legal obligation: in particular, Swiss Code of Obligations Art. 958f (10-year retention of business records) and applicable Estonian accounting and tax law for invoices processed by Viascom OÜ
Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Service providers: hosting and support tools, engaged under written agreements that restrict their use of your data
- Group entities: when you become a paying customer in the European Union, Viascom LLC shares the minimum billing information needed with Viascom OÜ. Viascom OÜ then processes that data as an independent controller for invoicing and tax purposes.
- Authorities: when required by law or to protect rights and safety
- Business transfers: in case of merger or acquisition, with appropriate safeguards
International Transfers
Personal data is processed in Switzerland (by Viascom LLC) and in the European Union (by Viascom OÜ and our EU-based service providers). Transfers between Switzerland and the EU are supported by mutual adequacy recognition: the EU Commission recognises Switzerland as providing an adequate level of protection, and the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) recognises the EEA as adequate.
Where we engage service providers outside Switzerland and the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (with the Swiss addendum where applicable) or another lawful transfer mechanism, and we assess whether supplementary measures are required.
Cookies and Tracking
This website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or similar tracking technologies. Our web servers record basic access information — such as IP address, request path, and browser user-agent — in standard server logs for security, diagnostics, and abuse prevention. These logs are not used for profiling or advertising.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described:
- Server access logs: 90 days from collection, for security and abuse prevention
- Email correspondence: up to 2 years from last contact, unless retention is required by law
- Customer account and commercial records (Viascom LLC): 10 years from the end of the fiscal year in which the record arose, as required by Swiss Code of Obligations Art. 958f
- Billing and tax records (Viascom OÜ): for the periods required by applicable Estonian accounting and tax law
You may request earlier deletion; we will honour the request unless we are legally required to retain the data.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your data
- Request data portability
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — the Swiss FDPIC (edoeb.admin.ch) for processing by Viascom LLC, the Estonian Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (aki.ee) for processing by Viascom OÜ; if you are in the European Union, you may also contact your local data protection authority
Contact [email protected] to exercise your rights.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not engage in automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No system is completely secure, but we aim to use protections appropriate to the risk.
Children
Our services are not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website.
